Red China will accept submissions in the beginning of 2008. Please check back in the winter for specific reading dates.
Firstly: We publish original, unpublished work. Do not send work that has been published elsewhere, even on your web log. Please submit no more than once a year, but feel free to let us know if you have submitted previously. We hope to offer courteous rejection letters and exciting acceptance letters. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but we ask that the submitter notify us immediately on acceptance elsewhere. Thank you in advance for your thoughtful submissions.It may take us up to three months to respond to your submission. Thanks for your patience. Submissions that do not follow these guidelines will be discarded without notification.
Fiction and Poetry: Submissions should be attached as MS Word documents or included in the body of the email.
Fictioners may send up to 25 pages. Please send only one piece at a time. Translations are not accepted. Submissions to: fiction at redchinamagazine dot com.
Poets may send up to 10 poems. Translations are welcome. Submissions to: poetry at redchinamagazine dot com.
Visual Art: Submissions may be attached in psd, jpeg, gif, tiff, or other relative formats. We encourage artists to include details of your images as it will aid us in assessing your work. Please send us 5-12 images. Never send us links to your website, though we may ask to view your website if we are interested in your submission. Submissions to: art at redchinamagazine dot com.
Essays: Are primarily solicited, but we welcome queries. Submissions to: essays at redchinamagazine dot com.
Notes: When e-mailing, substitute "@" in place of "at" and "." in place of "dot". Apologies for any confusion, but we must protect ourselves from spam. Never query regarding the status of your submission if it has been less than three months. Never query us regarding when our next issue will be coming out, unless you are a well-wisher.
