About me

A computational linguist by training, I am currently employed as a research scientist in the Knowledge Management research group of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence.

I'm not yet a frequent contributor of new material to Wikipedia, though I have made it a point to combat kookery where I consider myself qualified to identify it. Please join me in preventing cranks such as Gene Ray and Arthur T. Murray from insidiously promoting their own ideologies on Wikipedia.

Murray has over ten years' history spamming Usenet with his self-promotional materials. He has access to a number of ISP accounts, most of them seemingly in the Seattle or Vancouver areas.

On 4 February 2004 Murray posted a comment to the Artificial intelligence history page indicating that he had made a formal complaint to my employer over my alleged censorship of his edits. However, subsequent investigation with my local system administrators revealed no evidence that Murray had sent e-mail to anyone at my workplace. Unless he's in the habit of sending letters by post, I think it's safe to assume that any threats he makes are completely empty. He's too concerned with concealing his true identity (from those who would shut down his Internet accounts, perhaps) to make a traceable and substantiated complaint to anyone in authority.
